Franco-Algerian artist, Tarik Benouarka, is a multi-instrumentalist, pianist and player of the Arab lute. An Internationally renowned composer, with a talent expressed in many areas of music, from classical to contemporary, film score to live performance.
Some examples of his recent creations include:
– The Arabic Opera, El Nafas;
– Original music of The Wyld, the upcoming Thierry Mugler show for Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin.
Born in Algiers, he began studying music at four years old before continuing his apprenticeship in France studying jazz, classical and Arabic music. Studying at the musical conservatory of Evry, he earned two first prizes in harmony and instrument. Early on he discovers the world of stage and studio, performing his first concerts and recordings at the age of 12.
A rare artist, he creates a multi-coloured musical world tinted by the Orient and the Occident. He plays with both sounds and words to express musicality, sensitivity and a unique fantasy. A series of high profile collaborations (M. Testino, T. Mugler, J. Higelin, Jacno, R.Tahar, Beyonce, Cirque du Soleil...) built his artistic richness and made him a world recognised player in the musical and visual space.
